MzTeachuh's Meditations The Lord Is Good And A Stronghold In The Day Of Trouble

The Lord Is Good And A Stronghold In The Day Of Trouble

Who is the Lord?

Acts 17: 24-28, “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

The Lord is God, the creator, and yet is a person who loves you as an individual. He knows you-planned on you-has personal interest and help for you.

If God is good, why does evil happen? God created free will-for people and angels-therefore, some choices are for evil and there is a constant battle. But Jesus said, “In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

What is God's stronghold? One of the title of God from the Old Testament is Jehovah Shalom-the Lord of Peace. God's plan is to give peace of soul by bringing peace from spiritual alienation, peace from mental turmoil, and safety from danger.

Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Psalm 91:15,16

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15
He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

MzTeachuh's Meditations: The Joy of the Lord Is Your Strength

'Happy Earth,' Keith Haring

Related to JOY

Synonyms: beatitude, blessedness, bliss, blissfulness, felicity, gladness, happiness, warm fuzzies
Antonyms: calamity, ill-being, misery, sadness, unhappiness, wretchedness

Somehow, "The Warm Fuzzies of the Lord Is Your Strength," doesn't sound the same.

Nehemiah 8:10, "The joy of the Lord is your strength."
