Some Children See Him

 Mark 10:13-16

The Message (MSG)
13-16 The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.

We've all heard that Jesus loves  the little children, all the children of the world.

This is a beautiful carol that is new to me. .

Teaching Is Giving Lifelong Reading

These links are not for Reading Specialists, or those educators involved exclusively with reading instruction. These links are intended for parents, and since all teachers are reading teachers, too, for those in classroom situations where some practical techniques in the midst of the core curriculum may help. I'm a big fan of taking secondary vocabulary and syllabicating, decoding the syllable, then reading the whole word in context for meaning.

We are so honored to teach young people to read.

The Definition Of Digital Citizenship

https://wegrowteachers.com/the-definition-of-digital-citizenship/

Well, first citizenship, which is formally defined as “the quality of an individual’s response to membership in a community.” This makes citizenship far more complex than a simple legal matter, but rather one that consists of self-knowledge, interaction, and intimate knowledge of a place, its people, and its cultural history.
So digital citizenship is nearly the same thing–“the quality of a response to membership in a digital community” would be a good first crack at the definition.

Abby noticed that her sophomore students had extremely limited experience in reading a science textbook. As a result, their note-taking skills were inadequate when trying to gather information from the text. We decided to create a structured lesson that utilized stations to give students an opportunity to practice with various types of note-taking styles.

About Me

My photo
Melanie Link Taylor, M.A.
If someone asks what my career is, I respond, "Learning how people learn." I have been a teacher for all levels and handicaps of Special Education, English/ELA grades 7-12, as well as each grade level of elementary. I just love the fun of learning and seeing the students advance. I am from California, received a Masters in Special Education from Chapman University, a B.A. in English and Art from Mount St. Mary's University in Los Angeles. I have been teaching in the Inland Empire, as well as the High Desert of California, since 1994. The MzTeachuh blog I started ten years ago brings a privilege to participate in the online community. Cultivating the Melanie Link Taylor Learning Garden and Wildlife Habitat keeps me grounded and empowered to share the wonders of nature with my students.
