For Irish Carers--Oíche Chiún [Silent Night]

Silent Night by Yoshiko Mishino

At this time, carers of the handicapped in Ireland are seeking continued financial assistance from the
Irish government. I put this up in solidarity.

MzTeachuh: Exquisite Beauty For You

MzTeachuh: Exquisite Beauty For You: Bernini's statue of Apollo and Daphne Closeup of Apollo and Daphne The Story of Apollo and Daphne Apollo, being very full of him...

Exquisite Beauty For You

Bernini's statue of Apollo and Daphne
Closeup of Apollo and Daphne
The Story of Apollo and Daphne
Apollo, being very full of himself, insulted Cupid. Cupid, to retaliate, shot the beautiful Daphne with an arrow not for love, but the opposite, indifference. Of course, he shot Apollo with an intense love arrow. So the plot thickens. Daphne is not the least bit interested in Apollo; he pursues her anyway. But due to the fact that they are both related to gods and demi-gods, Daphne requests she lose her beauty, and she turns into a laurel tree.
The statue by Bernini portrays the moment Daphne evades Apollo's pursuit and begins to transform into a laurel tree. It is hard to believe these light and airy moving figures are made of marble.

Here is some exquisite music from our friend Chopin to enhance the moment.

Some Children See Him

 Mark 10:13-16

The Message (MSG)
13-16 The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: “Don’t push these children away. Don’t ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God’s kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you’ll never get in.” Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.

We've all heard that Jesus loves  the little children, all the children of the world.

This is a beautiful carol that is new to me. .

Run, Run, Rudolph!

Tell Santa he can take the freeway down.

" Run, Run Rudolph" Chuck Berry

  Sing along!

Out of all the reindeers you know you're the mastermind
Run, run Rudolph, Randalph ain't too far behind
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph 'cause I'm reeling like a merry-go-round

Said Santa to a boy child "What have you been longing for? "All I want for Christmas is a Rock and Roll electric guitar? And then away went Rudolph a whizzing like a shooting star

Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town, come on
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph, reeling like a merry-go-round

Said Santa to a girl child "What would please you most to get?"A little baby doll that can cry, sleep, and wet And then away went Rudolph a whizzing like a Saber jet

Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town
Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down
Run, run Rudolph 'cause I'm reeling like a merry-go-round
