It's A Beautiful Morning

I have noticed some lovely songbirds singing in the garden this week.

 It's A Beautiful Morning

Felix Cavaliere Eddie Briganti

It's a beautiful mornin', Ahhh,
I think I'll go outside a while,
An jus' smile.
Just take in some clean fresh air, boy!
Ain't no sense in stayin' inside
If the weather's fine an' you got the time.
It's your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day.
Either way,
It's a beautiful mornin', Ahhh,
Each bird keeps singin' his own song.
So long!
I've got to be on my way, now.
Ain't no fun just hangin' around,
I've got to cover ground, you couldn't keep me down.
It just ain't no good if the sun shines
When you're still inside,
Shouldn't hide, still inside, shouldn't hide,
Ahhhh..Oh! (shouldn't hide) Ah, ah, Oh.....
(Do, do, Waaa) (Do, do, Waaa)
There will be children with robins and flowers;
Sunshine caresses each new waking hour.
Seems to me that the people keep seeing
More and more each day, gotta say, lead the way,
It's okay, wednesday, thursday, it's okay,
(Ahhh) monday, wednesday, friday, weekday, Ah, Ah, Ohhh.
(Do, do, Waaa)
Ah, Ah, Oh, Oh, (Do, Do - Aaaa)
Wooooo oo oo oh, oh, oh, Ah wo, do, waa
Ohhhhhhh.....Oh, Oh, Oh, .....

Tracking Student Progress: They're More Than Data

Each child must learn the necessary skills demanded by the state to reach graduation proficiency during their tenure in an academic institution.
Each boy and girl must adequately be able
to communicate that learning before being
able to walk on that fateful day after 12
long years of study.
Too often, we let teachers, not the
learners themselves dictate what students
know and can do.
This isn't the most efficient or effective way.

How To Avoid Pointless Professional Development

We’ve all been there. Professional Development that felt pointless and left us wondering why we were there. It might have been because the person(s) facilitating the learning was not very good or the topic was actually just something that could have been included in an email and that is truly frustrating. But what about those instances where the topic or the person is actually good but you just don’t feel like you need to be there? Misaligned PD can lead to wasted hours, burned out teachers and lack of progress towards the goal of improving the quality of the teaching and learning.

Eliminating Recess: Depriving Kids in More Ways Than You Think

As schools around the country push hard to reduce and eliminate recess time, child development and behavioral experts are pushing back even harder. There’s a good reason to keep up the fight – while children find growth through scholastic development, they’re reaping a different kind of benefit in the play yard. It’s where they have organic opportunities for social development and partake in healthy physical activity that reinvigorates body and brain.
