Who Is The Greatest Rock Poet? Nomination #6

George Harrison
George Harrison used figurative language as though he was not primarily a musician, but a poet.  I'm including two of his songs/poems. I would like to also include 'Long, Long, Long,' but maybe another time,

While My Guitar Gently Weeps, the version from Love, which was a demo before Eric Clapton was invited to play.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Love version)
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you

I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you

I look from the wings at the play you are staging
While my guitar gently weeps
As I'm sitting here doing nothing but aging
Still my guitar gently weeps

The second is "Something" considered one of the most eloquent love songs/poems ever.

 Something (Acoustic) - The Beatles

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me

I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me

Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know

Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me

Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
