This poem by John Lennon is Lewis Carrollesque, inspired by his son's painting while Julian was in nursery school. The imagery in this poem is astounding.

With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes

Personally, I believe Lennon that the poem is not about LSD. I also think the use of drugs and alcohol slows down and confuses the creative process. It destroys brain cells, not enhancing the function of creativity.
