Restorative justice is not a cut-and-dried system or a prescribed formula you follow. Each school has its own approach. But having a “restorative mindset” is the foundational element. Begin thinking about your own biases and reflecting on how you respond to student behavior from a place of empathy and understanding of the root issue, rather than just reacting from a place of wanting to punish a student for what feels like a personal attack.
